It's natively 110x110 px, but anything square will not be squished.

110 × 105 pixels (Natural: 600 × 600 pixels)
the Border itself is; 150 × 146 pixels (Natural: 249 × 243 pixels)

Folks need just 250 Influence in order to set an avatar picture. Influence can be earned through pledging or contributing to the community through highly rated posts, getting friends to join, and whatnot. Pledging at the lowest level package would give 400 influence.

Folks need just 250 Influence in order to set an avatar picture. Influence can be earned through pledging or contributing to the community through highly rated posts, getting friends to join, and whatnot. Pledging at the lowest level package would give 400 influence.
Noted, and thanks for the clarification, but I am going to hazard a guess and say there are likely very few, if any community members who have even 100 influence from purely 'highly rated posts'.
But my real point is that you guys seem to be moving more towards putting basic forum functionality behind what is essentially a paywall. You can refer to influence points, but influence points are essentially money points when it comes down to it, either yours or your friend's.
I am not trying to be belligerent about it, I just don't appreciate not being able to post links, after making a number of helpful community posts, which I can no longer edit or add to. Now to add to this, I can't use an avatar, which I do like doing, because I have held off throwing money at screen shots and design notes, despite being very excited about the game.
There are the exclusive forums for high tiered backers. Putting all these restrictions on regular forums seems very excessive to me, and does not make someone like me, who is very supportive of the game despite not having purchased it yet, feel pretty unappreciated.
