i was looking to place my settlement in the duchy and heard that no one knew who the duke was. if you are out there please let me know

Best advice, get on Discord and start asking about communities... build relationships, etc. it’s in your best interest!

I know who was planning to take Thistle, but if I remember correctly, he was going to get it during the auction. Guess it got picked by a rando.

A random is just that, random. It was probably a shadow duke that has been quite for years. There are a lot like that but mostly you hear of counts being that way.
